The Otumoetai Cadets Cricket Club have a proud history and reputation of the development of players throughout the region, playing competitive games in Tauranga, Greerton and the Mount Maunganui areas. Located within the Northern Districts catchment area, Otumoetai Cadets Cricket Club are proud of their inclusive player development program and team culture that promotes the skill development, cricketing knowledge and a positive culture of success.
With a strong base of young developing players, our college grades are matured through structured practice sessions that focus on all the core disciplines of batting, bowling and fielding skills.
Further development of the nuances of each discipline is refined during brief group sessions weekly as the club coach Sam Owen brings his extensive knowledge to the benefit of Otumoetai Cadets Cricket Club.
Further player development can be gained in One on One coaching sessions with the club coach Sam Owen.
Otumoetai Cadets Cricket College Grade Cricket is broken down into two age groups of Year 9-10 and Year 11-13. This is to encourage quality cricket with peer group players giving every cricketer the confidence to develop into the cricketer they have the potential to be.
There are various competitions available to play in Saturday Cricket is the mainstay format then Superclub (invitation only) Mid Week Cricket, and Last Man Standing.
Improvement and player betterment is not only encouraged but rewarded with players who are performing an improving have the opportunity to play for the reserve grade. This is an open men's grade and progression path to the Premier Grade.
In playing for the Otumoetai Cadets Premier team you stand shoulder to shoulder with many greats of the region and even those who have gone on to play at the highest level of playing for our National Team. Recent success for this team has seen this team as Finalists in the 2017/18 season and Winners in the 2016/17 season.
